obedience by osmosis?

another way to think about this.

As mentioned, it is a most intense fashion that God declares His commandments for life. It is just as intense when he describes what happens when his commandments are ignored. It is nasty, He calls it curses. It is not a small list either. The difference between the two is as sharp as a divide as you can find. Blessings or Curses.

Question? if we can now ignore God's commandments because we have Christ in our hearts. (Now, I dont see it in scripture and what Paul, Jesus, and John say becomes incoherrent, or at least inconsistant. But lets speculate that its true.....) Then in effect we have millions and millions of American christians that are being salt in America. We should be seeing the blessings that would come from having Christ fullfilling all the commandments, all over the place. Instead, it looks just like the cursing section, from where a people has disregarded Gods Law and all these curses shall come upon you.

Scenario A) What is the number of believers in Amercia that even acknowledge his commandments as being righteous, wonderous, as our wisdom, as our understanding, let alone see them as the answer to, how shall we then live?

Scenario B) What is the number of Christians that believe that Jesus picks up the tab for all this commandment stuff?

Jesus said you will know a tree by its fruit. Which scenario A ,or B, is consistant with the fruit we are watching hit the ground all around us.
