Looking for a biblcal stance for future generations

Catching up, This was penned on sept 20,08

Normally I feel like I can put together a pretty solid case for what I write if it was to be challenged, but I admit on this one its more of an instinctive letter.

Can we be in prayer against this weeks government crisis package. Though the markets loved it. All it is, is more debt, taken on by the government. The debtors are protected? the guilty go free? the innocent are punished instead? God forbid it. It continues to add debt to the next generations, we literally are selling our children’s, children into bondage. I hope none of us fathers would stand still as their children were being attacked but would rise up to defend them. Now I am basing this on the premise that as men we are called to protect our families.

I think we must pray that these blows would fall on us rather than our children. Its like knowing that a lion is in your back yard, it would be terrifying to deal with it. But if you don’t, you gonna send your wife?….then your children must some day. This is just so wrong. I know now that for most of my adult life, a lot of the American lifestyle has been obtained by promising to pay in the future so it can be enjoyed now. Debt.

There is nothing we can do to stop the tsunami wave of public sentiment. But that means nothing in Gods economy. His arm is never to short. We can humbly approach our heavenly father and stand in the gap for those who haven’t been born yet. When we acknowledge we are part of a sinful people who have gone astray, but that our trust and hope is in Him and not Washington we affirm His Lordship. We at least in spirit, number ourselves with those who fear Him. We become like the sons of Issachar, aware of the times. God, We want to raise up families that embrace your law, your view of life and glorify you. Only you can protect our children’s, children. Lord we ask that you protect your inheritance, that your people would one day, again, be mighty in the land.
